11.9. Check of a tension of a belt of a drive of the pump of the power steering

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check a belt tension, having pressed on it effort of 98 N (10 kg) in a place located on identical removal from pulleys, and measure a belt deflection.

Belt deflection:

  • Regular checks: 11,7–15,3 mm
  • New belt: 8,8–11,0 mm

2. On engines V 6 adjustment of a tension of a belt is carried out by the automatic mechanism of a tension.

3. For adjustment of a tension weaken an adjusting bolt of the mechanism of a tension and then repeatedly tighten its (DOHC engine).
