5.10. Sensor of provision of a butterfly valve (TP)

The sensor of provision of a butterfly valve is the variable resistor rotating with an axis of a butterfly valve and handing over information on the basis of which the ESM block defines, when the butterfly valve is closed, completely open or is in intermediate provisions. The sensor is rigidly connected to butterfly valve shaft. Depending on the provision of a butterfly valve resistance of the sensor changes.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect the socket from the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve.

2. Measure resistance between plugs 1 (weight) and 2 (food) of the socket of the sensor for the engine of 2,0 l of DOHC or between plugs 2 (weight) and 1 (food) of the socket of the sensor for the engine of 2,5 l of V6.

Resistance: 3,5–6,5 kiloohms

3. Connect an ohmmeter to plugs 1 (weight) and 3 (a sensor exit) the sensor socket for the engine of 2,0 l of DOHC or between contacts 2 (weight) and 3 (a sensor exit) the sensor socket for the engine of 2,5 l of V6.
4. Slowly open a butterfly valve and be convinced that resistance of the sensor smoothly changes in proportion to butterfly valve opening.
5. If resistance of the sensor differs from demanded or changes in steps, replace the sensor.
