5.12. The warmed sensor of oxygen (HO2S)

The warmed sensor of oxygen defines concentration of oxygen in the fulfilled gases and transforms to tension which transfers to the control unit the ESM engine.

On cars with the engine of 2,0 l of DOHC tension on an exit of the sensor equally 1 In if the fuel mix is richer in relation to theoretical and tension is equal 0 In if a fuel mix poorer (higher concentration of oxygen in the fulfilled gases).

On cars with the engine of 2,5 l the V 6th tension on an exit of the sensor equally 0 In if the fuel mix is richer in relation to theoretical and tension is equal 5 In if a fuel mix poorer (higher concentration of oxygen in the fulfilled gases).

In order that there was a complete combustion of gas mixture and in the fulfilled gases there were no harmful substances, 1 part of fuel (a theoretical ratio) should fall on 14,7 weight parts of air.

On the basis of these data the control unit the engine changes time of opening of nozzles and a fuel ratio in a toplivnovozdushny mix.

The sensor of oxygen is equipped with a heater which maintains temperature of the sensor in a certain interval at operation of the engine on all operational modes. Maintenance of a certain temperature of the sensor allows system to get into gear and work quicker in an idling mode.

Check (2,0 l of DOHC)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Before check warm up the engine until the temperature of cooling liquid will not be equal 80–95°C.

By the exact digital voltmeter measure target tension of the sensor.

1. Disconnect the socket from the sensor of oxygen and connect the voltmeter to the socket of the sensor of oxygen.

2. Changing frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine, will measure target tension of the sensor of oxygen which in a mode of acceleration there should be about 0,6 V.Esli target tension of the sensor differs from demanded, replace the sensor.

Inhaling moment: 40–50 N • m

Check (2,5 l of V6)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Before check warm up the engine until the temperature of cooling liquid will not be equal 80–95°C.

1. To plugs of the socket 3 and 4 submit tension of the storage battery.

When giving tension be careful not to mix and to close the socket plug.

2. Connect the digital voltmeter between plugs 1 and 2.
3. Changing frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine, will measure target tension of the sensor of oxygen which in a mode of acceleration there should be about 4,5 Century.
4. If target tension of the sensor differs from demanded, replace the sensor.

Inhaling moment: 40–50 N • m
