5.6. The sensor of temperature of cooling liquid (ECT)

The sensor of temperature of cooling liquid is established in a head of the block of cylinders and supervises temperature of cooling liquid and transmits a signal to the control unit the ESM engine. As the sensor the thermoresistor which is sensitive to temperature changes is used. Electric resistance of the thermoresistor decreases at increase in temperature. The ESM block works at the cold engine in a mode of an open loop therefore in cylinders of the engine richer toplivovozdushny mix moves and frequency of rotation of idling increases. It proceeds before achievement by the engine of normal working temperature.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the sensor from the engine.

2. Heating up a vessel with water and the sensor located in it, check its resistance.

3. If resistance of the sensor differs from demanded, replace the sensor.

If it is not enough increase in frequency of rotation of idling of the cold engine or at engine warming up the fulfilled gases have dark color, the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid can be the reason of it.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Put on a sensor carving LOCTITE 962T hermetic or equivalent.
2. Screw the sensor in the block of cylinders and tighten it the moment given in the specification.

Inhaling moment: 20–40 N • m

3. Connect to the sensor the socket.
