9.2. Power shaft

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Lift the car, fix on support and remove a forward wheel.

2. Merge transmission liquid from a transmission.

3. Remove шплинт and turn out a nut of fastening of a power shaft to a nave of a forward wheel.

4. Turn out 2 bolts and disconnect the spherical hinge from the hinge.

5. A kapron hammer beat out a power shaft from a nave of a forward wheel. If the power shaft densely sits in a nave of a forward wheel, spray propitochny aerosol solvent on area шлицов and then repeatedly screw a nut with a fillet so that it settled down flush with a shaft end face. Striking on a nut with a brass hammer, beat out a power shaft from a nave.

6. Reject outside a rotary fist and get a power shaft from a nave of a forward wheel.

7. Insert mount between the internal CV JOINT of a power shaft and a transmission and easy blow on mount take a power shaft from a transmission (V 6).

Do not pull for a power shaft as hinges of equal angular speeds will be thus damaged.

8. Insert mount between a case of a transmission both a power shaft and easy blow on mount take a power shaft from a transmission (except V 6).
  1. Do not pull for a power shaft as hinges of equal angular speeds will be thus damaged.
  2. Do not insert mount very deeply not to damage an oil sealing ring.

Do not lower the car on wheels at the disconnected power shafts as the nave bearing will be damaged. If it is necessary to establish the car on wheels for its moving, use the special tool for support of the bearing of a nave.

9. Release the mechanism of a tension and remove a driving belt (V6 engines).

10. Remove the generator (V6 engines).

11. Turn out assembly bolts of fastening of an arm of the central bearing. Insert mount between an arm of the central bearing and the block of cylinders and disconnect an arm from the block of cylinders.

12. Take the internal hinge of a power shaft from a transmission.

13. Using the special tool, remove an ABS sensor rotor from a power shaft.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check protective covers of CV JOINTS of a power shaft on absence of damages and rubber hardening.

2. Check shlitsa at end faces of a power shaft on lack of wear and damages.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Grease a working edge of an oil sealing ring of differential.
2. Establish a new lock ring on the internal end of a power shaft. A push insert a power shaft into a transmission, thus a cut of a lock ring should settle down from below.
3. After installation pull a power shaft outside and be convinced that it is reliably fixed by a round clip.

4. Establish a washer under a nut of fastening of a power shaft to a nave the convex party directed outside, as is shown in drawing.

5. Tighten the following elements the moments of the inhaling given in the specification.

  • Nut of fastening of a power shaft: 200–260 N • m
  • The spherical hinge of the bottom lever to the hinge: 100–120 N • m
